Highland freshman Chase Schultz found perfect on Monday night, striking out 13 batters in a 17-0 rout of Winfield-Mount Union.

In 72 pitches over five innings of work, Schultz allowed no hits, no runs and no walks to earn the win. He struck out 13 of 15 batters faced on the night.

The Highland offense backed him up with 17 runs on the night.

Third baseman Jacob Leonard was 2-3 from the plate including a double and two RBIs.

Cory Stewart and Connor Grinstead scored twice.

Brody Burton, Trevor McFarland and Mason McFarland each had a double.

The Huskies drove in 10 of their 17 runs scored with 13 of those runs being scored in the second inning.

Highland is now 2-1 this season after a pair of postponements last week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Huskies are scheduled to play six games over the next seven days. They will have home games on Friday against Notre Dame, Saturday against Mediapolis and June 10 against Iowa Mennonite.

They will make up a game with Lone Tree on June 11.
