The Lone Tree girls basketball team's season came to an end Friday night with a 42-36 loss to Prince of Peace.
The Class 1A Regional opener was a back-and-forth game, with the Irish coming out on top after holding the Lady Lions to just two points in the third quarter.
Ashley Musser had 13 points to lead Lone Tree. Josie Mullinnix added 10.
Prince of Peace took an 8-3 lead after one quarter of play, but Lone Tree closed the gap to 20-19 at halftime.
Prince of Peace went on a 6-0 run to start the second half of play and had an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Lone Tree came as close as 39-36 with less than a minute to go, but Prince of Peace hit enough free throws to seal the victory.
Lone Tree closes their season with a 4-16 record.
