Mid-Prairie, Highland and Lone Tree will all host football camps this week as the season approaches. 

Mid-Prairie will host camps for fifth through 12th grade on Aug. 5 to Aug. 8. Fifth through eighth grade will be from 5-6:30 p.m. and ninth through 12th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The camp will take place at the practice football field behind Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman. 

A camp form can be found at GoldenHawkFootball.com. Campers are encouraged to sign up prior to the first day of camp. The cost is $40 per camper with a $80 family maximum.  

The camp will include instruction from the Mid-Prairie football staff including fundamentals, position drills, teamwork activities and skill competitions. 

Highland will host a youth football camp for third through eighth graders on Aug 5, 7 and 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. The cost will be $30 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Lone Tree will host their high school camp from Aug. 8-10. On Aug. 8-9 the camp will be from 5-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 10. The camp costs $40 per camper with a $55 maximum per family. 

The camp will include instruction based on position and include speed development and conditioning. Campers will also learn the Lone Tree offensive and defensive playbook. Questions can be directed to Lone Tree football coach Aaron Bohr at abohr@lonetreecsd.org.

The camp precedes the beginning of the fall sports season, which officially kicks off with the first day of practice on Aug. 12.
