A recent promotion at the Lone Tree Wellness Center added 41 memberships.
School Superintendent Ken Crawford said the center offered a 50-day membership for $50 and attracted 20 single memberships, seven couples and 14 families.
The promotion pushed total memberships to 689, up 112 from the previous month.
The number of memberships has exceeded expectations, Crawford said.
“I think it is getting busier and busier all day long,” he said.
The Lone Tree Community School District manages the facility, which is a partnership with the city of Lone Tree.
Some upcoming plans include:
• An advisory board.
• A “guts club” honoring the five members who use the facility the most during a particular month.
• A workout of the day that will be posted on the weight room marker board.
• A self-defense class with taught by a Johnson County sheriff’s deputy.
