1932 - 2019

Muriel Joan Redlinger was born Sept. 2, 1932, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Art and Delphia (Taylor) Spears.  She graduated from Wellman High School in 1949.  On Jan. 22, 1955, Joan was united in marriage to Ivan “Lindy” Redlinger in Kinross.  They made their home in the Wellman community where they raised their family.  

Joan was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  She enjoyed playing bridge, shopping, going to the casino, and loved cats.  

Joan passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 86 years.

Joan is survived by her husband: Ivan “Lindy” Redlinger of Wellman; a daughter: Pam Redlinger of Wellman; two sons: Tony (Jean) Redlinger of Tiffin and Scott Redlinger of The Villages, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Verneal Pence and Marrietta Augustine; and a brother: Paul Karr.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wellman.  Rev. Bill Roush will officiate.  Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.  A memorial fund has been established for American Heart Association and Hospice Compassus.  www.powellfuneralhomes.com
