Each year, the Kalona Quilt Show and Sale draws scores of quilt enthusiasts from all over.

The mixed bag of weather last weekend, however, put a damper on things. While Friday was bright and sunny, Saturday was cold and rainy.

“The weather wasn’t good Saturday, and I think they got some snow up north,” quilt show organizer Katie Karnes, owner of Woodin Wheel Antiques, said. “That might’ve deterred some people, I think.”
