On Saturday, the Rotary Club of Kalona held its annual omelet breakfast. This year the club designated proceeds from the breakfast to the Pleasantview Home building project.

Those proceeds will not be determined for a few weeks while expenses are being compiled.

Earlier in the week, club Treasurer Dan Bontrager reported that the Kalona club has donated more than $36,500 over the last four years.

The money was given in 37 donations between May 1, 2015, and the end of April.

The biggest donation was $10,350 to Pathway Christian School from the omelet breakfast proceeds in 2018.

Most donations were smaller, between $100 and $500, and given to a wide variety of community organizations.
