The city of Kalona is planning one last summer celebration before school is back in session.
There will be a Family Fun Night Saturday in the KCTC lot in downtown Kalona.
“It will be a low-key, family- friendly event,” City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh said.
There will activities from 4-6 p.m., followed by an outdoor showing of “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” the sequel to “Wreck It Ralph.”
There will be free popcorn, bounce houses and other activities.
Schlabaugh said there will also be a food vendor on site.
He explained that the city and the Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce partnered this year for Kalona Days in June, and the city had some money left over in its budget.
Because of the threat of storms on Kalona Days, the bounce houses were canceled.
As a result, the decision was made to put on a “really simple” event.
