Sharon Bethel Men

Tickets to “Deck the Halls: An Evening of Dinner and Music” featuring the Sharon Bethel Men will be sold at the 64th Annual Pleasantview Home Benefit Sale Nov. 1 and 2 at Hillcrest Academy.

Planning for the 64th Annual Pleasantview Home Benefit Sale is in full swing.

Planning for a new event has also been on the minds of the benefit steering committee.

Tickets to “Deck the Halls: An Evening of Dinner and Music” will be sold at the live auction.

This celebration of Christmas will be on Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. at East Union Mennonite Church, 5615 Gable Ave., Kalona.

A limited number of tickets will be sold, and buyers may purchase one ticket or as many as they wish.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres while listening to beautiful harp music, as Erika Rodriguez plays Christmas carols.

A chicken breast dinner with all the trimmings will be served, and the Sharon Bethel Men will fill the hall with Christmas music as well as lead everyone in singing Christmas carols together.

“We are really excited to be able to offer this event,” Nyle Kauffman, chair of the benefit steering committee, said. “You won’t want to miss it. Tickets for it will need to be purchased at the benefit. If you can’t be there, call me to leave a bid.”

As usual, other items will also be sold at the auction, including quilts, comforters, handmade items, gift certificates, cheese, frozen meat, organic milk, eggs, etc.

Meals to be served in the donors’ homes will be featured, and there will be a nice selection of them.

Net proceeds from this year’s sale will support Pleasantview’s plans to create facilities for assisted living and memory care.

This multi-year project will enable Pleasantview to continue providing exceptional care for all residents. Any additional funds will be used for the general welfare of all Pleasantview residents.

The benefit activities are at Hillcrest Academy (formerly Iowa Mennonite School), 1421 540th St. SW, Kalona, beginning on Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. with a meal, silent auction, which ends at 6:30 p.m., music by the Great Bluegrass Herons, bake sale and the live auction.

Saturday morning breakfast is served, and the live auction will start at 8:30 a.m. See schedule details at
